Yay! I get to post Tiffany’s bridals because SHE GOT MARRIED TODAY!
We were going to take the pictures in Aubrey.
Until we passed this field.
I groaned when I passed it.
We had to turn back around. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if we didn’t.
Beautiful. The flowers. The light. The bride. All so, so beautiful.
This dress is actually Tiffany’s second wedding dress. We did a bridals session with her ceremony dress in March (I’ll share some of those images at the end of this post), but this second session with her reception dress we did less than two weeks ago. And that’s a good thing because I would have had a terrible time having to sit on these beauties for much longer.
Free, free as the wind blows.
Stun.ning.
I pried myself away from the beautiful wildflowers and we continued on our way to Aubrey. Upon our arrival we were gifted in the form of an empty storage shed.
GIFTED, I say!
Speaking of gifted, guess who took this above image? None other than James Zamora! He came along to the session to practice second-shooting with his new Canon 7D!
With every single image all I can think to myself is, “She is so beautiful.” It goes through my mind every time I go through these images.
It seriously amazes me every time how fast she can go from beaming bride to stunning model — flip of a switch.
Style change — from cowgirl to girly-girl!
Dang, dang.
And now for a peek at a few from her March session (taken with my Rebel xti)
First off, it was a LOT more dress . . .
She is a princess. Obviously.
A very fun princess — I bet none of the royals saw Kate do this in her princess wedding dress.
You know that feeling you get when something/one is sooooo cute you just want to squeeze them or hug them or at least grit your teeth? Gosh, I hope that’s not just me . . . Well, that’s how cute I think Tiffany Burnside is in this photo. I just want to squeeze her little cheeks.
I couldn’t be happier for you and Trevor, Tiffany. I feel so honored that you chose me to be your wedding photographer and then also chose to call me  your friend. You are such a beautiful bride — inside and out.
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Kimberly and Christopher.
She was sitting at the front of the bus on the way to her choir concert before she worked up the nerve to go back and talk to him.
He was a senior and she was a sophomore. And a friend had told her that Christopher had a crush on her.
He was an older guy, and, what can Kimberly say? He dressed well too. How could she possibly resist?
Thankfully she didn’t resist it. She walked down the bus aisle to where Christopher was sitting and introduced herself. And now, several years later, that trip is leading her back down an aisle to where Christopher is — but this time it’s down the wedding aisle.
When we first met up and Christopher stepped out of the car I said something about him looked really spiffy for his engagement pictures. He looked down at his clothes a little confused and said, “I dress this way all the time . . .”
I love that big Kimberly laugh in the background. I love a laugh that won’t even let you stand up straight it’s so uncontainable.
Kimberly and Christopher’s wedding next March will include vintage bicycles and lots and LOTS of home-made pinwheels.
Christopher is involved in SGA at the University of North Texas, which is why he knew that UNT is powerd partially by a wind turbine farm in Munster. And really, wind turnbines are just like really, really massive pinwheels, right?
That little nose crinkle that Kimberly does gets me EVERY. TIME. Probably does a little number on Christopher’s heart too, I”m just saying.
Looooooooooooooove this photo. It breathes hug and holding and closeness.
For the last leg of the session we brought out the box of pinwheels that Kimberly had made herself to create ourselves a pinwheel field.
It just seems to me that there probably isn’t anything quite like sitting in your own personal pinwheel field in the arms of the one you love.
Kimberly’s ring is from 1933 and the stlye fits her perfectly — she and Christopher both leave the “old soul” impression.
I treasure the time I got to spend with you, Christopher and Kimberly. Time spent learning about your lives and documenting your love, your sweetness, and your engaged-ness.
I’m so excited for your FABULOUS Off the Grid wedding in March!
Meet Phoebe and Nathan.
I’m doing a super-quick post of Phoebe and Nathan’s engagement session because they’re getting married FRIDAY! Wahoo!
Nathan and Phoebe suggested we meet for the session at a small park in Fort Worth that they frequented while dating.
Everything about this photo is lovely. Phoebe is lovely. The way Nathan is looking at Phoebe is lovely (in the manliest way possible). And to top it all off, the light is lovely too.
Love. those. grins.
I enjoy the feeling of an underlying narrative in the photo above left.
Okay. That’s sweet.
I do not have ANYTHING against Nathan’s face, but I’m pretty sure this is my favorite from the shoot.
And I hope that’s okay.
She’s got that engaged glow.
It might seem random to have a merry-go-round shot mixed in among these forest scenes. I suppose it is.
But, if you’ve ever met Phoebe, you know it fits. She’s excited and candid and colorful and as merry as they come. I mean, she IS a kindergarten teacher.
And Nathan? Well, he’s slightly less outwardly excited and candid than Phoebe, but they’re a package deal.
Phoebe and Nathan, I will see you two on Friday!
You already know Jacklyn and Matt from their epic pillow fight in the last post. The following day we set out for Sundance Square. Jacklyn and Matt had suggested this location for their engagement pictures not only because it’s where they’ve gone on many dates together, but’s also the place where Matt proposed last Christmas season.
This spot is THE spot where it went down.
I loooooooooove when an engagement shoot location has a special meaning to the couple. Good work, guys.
I can say WITH CONVICTION that I am probably this wall’s biggest fan.
The way you can tell if a jumping photo is really meant to be is if it’s successful on the first shot.
Bingo. This one was meant to exist.
In the picture on the left she has just melted. into his arms. I just figure that’s how it always ought to be.
Can you say “awesome outfit change?” Check. out. those. shoes.
This picture makes me happy.
I really can’t get over those shoes, Jacklyn. Matt’s argyle socks are a nice touch too.
I love the shift in Jacklyn’s face from this photo above to her face of expectation below . . .
. . . Â either she saw this coming or her face begged Matt to make a move . . .
Before heading out we decided to snag some Fort Worth skyline shots.
I’m in love with this next picture on the right.
I cannot stress enough how natural Jacklyn and Matt were in front of the camera — such a pleasant surprise. Let me clarify — I never expect clients to be professional models and to need some encouragement and direction but Jacklyn and Matt just fell into each pose like they do this everyday.
“Oh, what was that, Jillian? You’d like us to kiss a little longer? Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.”
No big deal, I’m just hanging off the side of a building.
And we’ll end with a holly, jolly (but not necessarily flattering) picture of me and my uhhh-mazing clients who rocked it our for the second day in a row.
You should cut me some slack though — I DID just finish hanging off the side of a building.
Matt and Jacklyn, I’m super-pumped for your Fort Worth wedding this August!
