I got an e-mail from Nikki about a month after sending her her bridal portrait gallery and in it she wrote

“So I’m looking at the bridal portraits for the millionth time, and I just want to thank you. I can’t help thinking about showing these to our kids someday when they’re planning their own weddings.”

And it made me smile. I get that feeling myself sometimes myself when I look at photos, like, “These. These are the photos I want my children to hold on to as their favorite photos of their momma.” I love looking back at photos of my mom before I was born, or from when I was really little before I could actually form my own memories of her. It’s like little peaks back into her world, like getting to know her just a little more than before.

Oh, Nikki, you and me both would love for these to be photos you show your future children years from now.
