Meet Monica.

Monica will graduate in December from UNT and wanted some graduation photos to commemorate. When she first e-mailed me she let me know she didn’t want a typical graduation shoot — she wanted a ‘leaving-town’ shoot “with a little bit of fashion thrown in.” Monica, you are a girl after my own heart.

Here are some of the shots from our session.

Now, Monica also forewarned me not to expect a model. The day of the shoot she e-mailed me saying she was a little nervous but I told her she’d be fine. I figured she’d just need a little coaching — not a big deal.

After photographing you, Monica, I just have one thing to say to you: “What.ever.”

This girl was one of the most natural model I have ever had the pleasure of shooting — and I’ve shot some mod.els. before, so that’s no small feat.

Mmhm. Not a model my foot. Is Monica even your real name?!? I’m not sure WHAT to believe from your mouth!

A little ways into the shoot Monica tells me she loves shoes. No. Like, she REALLY loves shoes. This little black number happens to be her fav.

So, remember when I mentioned that Monica loves shoes? Well, she brought  some extras with her to the shoot . . .

. . . seven pairs of extras, to be exact – looooooooove it.

At the risk of stating the obvious, here’s where the leaving town comes in — vintage suitcases Monica brought along to the shoot!

As is typical in the course of a day, the light turned to night. But Monica had one more outfit she wanted to use so we decided to keep shooting to see what we could come up with.
