Meet Jillian and Jonas. This is their first time on the new blog, but man did they kick off my old one. How do I explain Jill and Jonas? They are the first couple who told me they wanted me to shoot all the photography leading up to and including their wedding — and then they told me they believed in my ability as a photographer, and let me run with that trust. I appreciate these two more than I can express. And now to get to shoot their Christmas card pictures for their first married Christmas is just so special! My camera has been itching to photograph them ever since it snapped the last picture of them waving goodbyes at their wedding reception lo four months ago.
Here are a few of my favorites.
This shot was an accident and I love it. I was trying to coach Jonas into how to hold his hands and he thought he’d be cute and pose like a little girl. Which lead us to all laugh at him. Which led to a wonderfully candid shot.
Hey, y’all have the same last name now. Isn’t that fun? ‘P’ is for PALOMINO!!

I don’t have to introduce these two because they’ve been on the blog just recently. Tiffany and Trevor had so many great ideas for engagement pictures we couldn’t fit them all into one session — so they just had two sessions! I was entirely in favor of this because, well, it meant I got to spend even more time with these two wonderful people.
Trevor and Tiffany are both lifelong Denton-ites and it turns out Trevor has put in quite a lot of volunteer hours at the Campus Theater . . . so when Tiffany and Trevor asked to put their save the date information on the marquee the owners were thrilled to oblige!
And their outfits? I. Know. What more could a photographer ask for? As I mentioned in my earlier post from their first engagement session, Trevor is in the Marines and had this uniform on hand. And Tiffany is just plain adorable every single second of every single day.
After a few shots at the Campus Theater we walked over to Beth Marie’s Ice Cream Parlor for the Lovers’ Sundae. Yum!
Haha, it was so funny watching Tiffany try to explain how they were going to spell L-O-V-E with there hands. It took sooooooo long. No worries, Trevor. Could have happened to anyone.
Work. It.
So when I said earlier that Tiffany and Trevor are wonderful, I wasn’t joking. In working with these two over the past couple of months I have discovered that they are incredibly encouraging and have become big proponents of Jillian Zamora Photography. Their enthusiasm and sincerity continues to overwhelm me.
At the end of the shoot we ended back up at the Campus Theater for some more shots  with the marquee.
Sweet, huh?
Yeah. I thought so too.
Huzzah.

I liked them instantly. I mean, why wouldn’t I like them? But I LOVED them when I heard their proposal story: Nick got down on one knee and asked Katie “Will you be my Kadusaurus?”
That, that is when this couple took my heart. I even wore my own dinosaur shirt to the session to proclaim it.
Katie is a graphic designer who happens to like dinosaurs. Nick is a musician who happens to like sharks. Hence the nod to said prehistoric creatures in their engagement shoot.
We did this shoot on campus at UTA, where Katie and Nick met.
Just to clarify, they did not meet in the middle of the woods on campus, they met at a meet-and-greet freshman year. See? Now those meet-and-greets don’t seem so lame, do they?
After leaving the wooded area we headed toward a specific bench that Katie and Nick used as a designated meeting place on campus where they would sit and talk together while they were getting to know each other.
Katie told me she loved that Nick always had plenty of stories to tell and ideas to talk about. “It is never dull talking with him,” she said.
Now that I’ve gone and told you that precious story I feel as if it is my ethical responsibility to tell you that the pictured bench isn’t THE bench — there was construction near their bench so we had to move to this one.
I think the sentiment is still there.
I just think this picture is really funny, ok?

We finished the session with a couple of shots of Katie, her cat and Nick outside Katie’s apartment complex right as the light was leaving us.Â
“Why do you want a picture with the cat?” Nick asked Katie.
“Because I want a picture of the family,” Katie matter-of-factly replied.
