I love seeing how different couples love each other.
Each has their own intricacies.
It’s an honor to be allowed to document such things.
Each couple’s different love.
Meet Renee, Caleb and their dog, Chanel.
And yes, Caleb consented to having a dog named “Chanel,” much to Renee’s delight.
After all, this is the same man whose first sighting with Renee was at the spa where she used to work — he was coming in for a facial.
True love really can spark anywhere.
(Your skin looks great, by the way, Caleb.)
We started out in Renee and  Caleb’s new neighborhood, where they had just recently bought a home together.
After snagging some shots with their dear Chanel, we headed to the Denton square. Caleb and Renee both spent most of their growing up years in Denton, but once they started dating they realized they could both trace their grandfathers back to the same town in Ohio. Connections are fun.
After we had taken a few shots in front of this empty store-front Caleb looked up at me real confused and rather skeptical. “Does this look prettier in pictures?” he asked.
We’ll let y’all be the judge . . .
You two do make a picnic table look good, that’s for sure.
As comedic as Caleb liked to play things (above), I was rather impressed to see how convincing his more serious side was (below).
Oh, cut it out, you two.
Renee, you are just fabulous.
Renee and Caleb, y’all are great together.
In front of an abandoned store-front.
On a picnic table.
In an alley.
Even on a loading dock.
Just, plain great together.
That’s my stamp of approval, anyway.
I’m excited for their September wedding at The (ever-lovely) Milestone, coming up in the next few months!
Meet Juli and Jared.
I love that the shoot started off this way. Juli giving Jared a hard time. Jared giving Juli a hard time. All in good fun.
This was their day: Jared flew in from Houston, Juli picked him up from the airport, they headed toward Denton, stopped and picked up a shirt for Jared to wear in the shoot along the way, and met me in Denton in time for the shoot. Jared had like, zero time to breathe. But he took it all in stride and it made for a lovely engagement shoot!
I almost can’t handle all this gorgeousness, Juli.
Juli brought a big box full of wedding decor and props to work into the shoot as we saw fit. I l-o-v-e-d this sweet yellow parasol that I also used for the sneak peek.
Cherish: To treat with affection and tenderness; hold dear:
Juli had said that this photo pretty much sums up their relationship, and that makes me happy because there is a lot of joy and adoration wrapped up in this shot.
Juli and Jared, I had so much fun documenting even a piece of y’all’s love for each other. I’m super-pumped for your McKinney Cotton Mill wedding in August!
Introducing Laura and Laramy.
I met up with Laura and Laramy at Sundance Square early one Friday morning for this session. Laramy is a wildlife major at Tarelton and is interning this summer in Caprock Canyon — about a five hour drive from Laura. So when Laura found out Laramy would be in town this one weekend, she immediately contacted me to set up an engagement session.
Laura had the earliest morning of all of us — she got up at 5:30 A.M. to fix her hair for the shoot! But I must say, Laura, your hair does look beautiful.
Laura and Laramy have been together for two years now, and got engaged last Thanksgiving day.
“Laramy didn’t propose in front of either of our families or make a big production, he waited until we got back to my house, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him,” Laura said. “Just the two of us. Intimate and simple, which is fitting for us.”
I felt honored to play a role in the one weekend that they had to spend together in a while — the time they did get with each other they were going to make the most of.
Although I wasn’t available to shoot your vineyard wedding this fall, I know it will be a beautiful occasion! Very best wishes to the two of you in the rest of your engagement and, soon, Â your marriage.
***Dearest blog readers, I know it’s been too long since I’ve posted. Please forgive. I’ve been ducking my head and trying to make good headway on editing all these weddings, but have neglected my blogging in the process. To try and catch up on the sessions that I’ve needed to post from the past two weeks, I’m having to put together shorter posts than usual. Please enjoy just these snippets of sessions from the past couple of weeks!
