Even though this engagement session ended up having to be rescheduled to be on Thanksgiving Day last year (long story, my fault) and even though Brett ended up having to miss a portion of his football game to oblige, I am especially pleased with how the images turned out. Here are just a few of my favorites from the random Thanksgiving Day engagement session of 2011 . . .

While I was not available to photograph their wedding day this past January, I wanted to wish the two of y’all a very belated congratulations! Happy first year of marriage, Kelsi and Brett.

Hello, all! As you know, it’s been my desire for some time now to catch up on blogging and one way I plan on doing this is by posting some monthly recaps! It’s not as good as a full blog post for each session/wedding, I know, BUT it’s something, right?  Here was my November 2011!

First up is the Dotson family! Do they look familiar? I just recently did a second photo shoot with them last month and you can view that preview here!

Then there was Kara and Michael’s blissfully engaged session! I also shot their wedding this past April, so that’ll hit the blog before you know it too!

The Burnside family was a delight to photograph . . .

I LOVE the Wilson family. These photos are from their THIRD photo session with JZP AND they just did their FOURTH session with me last week. I LOVE REPEAT CLIENTS and I love watching their kids grow bigger and bigger!

Speaking of repeat clients, this is Matt and Laura’s “day after” photo session (which, funny story, also turned into a baby announcement session!) as they got married last year — view their wedding blog post here!

This was an extended family photo shoot I did for my friend Julie! Julie is also a talented photographer with Birdseye Photography so it was an especially huge honor to be asked to photograph her family.

Then there was this darling family! Exciting news — Jennifer and Logan will actually be wed THIS MONTH!

OHHHHHH, Tiffany and Trevor. Gosh. I love them. They were another set of clients VERY early in the beginning of JZP and they made ALL THE DIFFERENCE by passing my name along to every person they came in contact with. I’m not joking. My heart is forever indebted to this wonderful couple. View THEIR wedding photos here AND here! It was just too much goodness for a single post.

Can’t forget the sweet, sweet Smith family! I just loved how styled all their outfits were!

This was JZP’s first photo session in College Station and it was a fun times with Stefanie and Scott.

Oh gosh, guys, Megan and Cody’s wedding was special because I actually went to high school with Megan! She was a grade above me and a cheerleader. She was ALWAYS soooo cute and SUCH a doll and that has not changed one bit. Look at her precious facial expressions during her first look with Cody:

Paige and Josh got married the day after Thanksgiving last year and that evening was filled with all kinds of sweetness! I’m so pleased I got to document it.

And it would just not have been a year for JZP unless I had the Palominos back in front of my camera! The Palomino wedding was the one I pinpoint as the very first JZP-official wedding. I just love them.

. . . and the Aldrich family came along right about the same time as the Palominos. Such a dear family!

And we’ll end here with Elizabeth’s bridals. She is a STUNNER.

And that was a pretty good summary of JZP’s November 2011. Can you see why I got behind on blogging?? There are a couple more posts coming up to complete my November — be looking for those in the days to come!

This was a sweet time for me.

You see, Josh is my cousin.

Mandie is his darling wife now, but we took these engagement photos back in November 2011 so at that time they were still blissfully engaged.

Josh is of the quiet sort and Mandie just kind of came into his life many many years ago and slowly snuggled her way into that quiet heart of his.

During their engagement session was the first time I felt like I got to see them.

But not as Josh, cousin-who-(literally)-lives-across-the-street or as Mandie friend-from-church-a-grade-below-me.

But as a man and a woman who just really really love each other.

So yes, a very sweet time indeed.

Soon (because I’m TOTALLY catching up on blogging FOR REAL this time) I’ll post some photos from their January wedding. THAT’S RIGHT, you heard me correctly — soon I will be posting work that’s ACTUALLY from THIS YEAR. Impressive, I know.

It was an evening this past June a couple of hours before our session when I heard the thunder.

I reached to open the blinds to my office window and the overcast sky told me what I suspected so I made the call.

Kaitlyn’s voice on the other end told me she was aware of the weather too.

I gave her the options:

– reschedule

– find an indoor location

– brave the rain

Her answer: “Why don’t we just play in the rain?”

I knew I liked that girl . . .

I think I know what you may be thinking: “BRAAAAAAVE the rain?!?! I see umBRELLas, and AWNings, INdoors and PARKing garages. That’s not BRAVERY!”

Well, just you wait.

Seriously you two — y’all make the rain look lovely.

Thanks for playing in the rain together and letting me document.

I’m ridiculously excited for your wedding this December!
