A few weeks back I had the pleasure of taking some photos of one of my mother’s childhood friend, Kaye. Kaye is in the process of putting together a country-gospel album and asked if I would take some portraits of her for the cover — so fun!
Here are a few of my favorites.
There are only NINE DAYS left to enter into the Jillian Zamora Photography giveaway — so exciting!
This January I was sitting at my desk editing a wedding and literally found myself moved to tears at how thankful I am to have this job and how gracious the Lord has been to us in allowing us to do what we love with people we adore. I’m so looking forward to what will come in 2013. There is something about the fresh outlook and anticipation a new year brings and I wanted to share some of my 2013 giddiness by giving away a full day of wedding photography coverage by yours truly and my handsome second-shooter (aka my super-talented husband, James). We are hoping to reach out to brides and grooms all over the world who are planning a wedding day that will be filled to the brim with heart.
Weddings can be on any day of the week — it does not have to be on a weekend to be eligible.
JZP (meaning myself and James) will deliberate over the entries and announce the contest winner on February 28th. We’ve already been loving reading over all of the heartfelt and detailed stories and envisioning all of the fabulous future weddings from the couples who have already sent their entries in!
Top 3 runners up will receive a significantly discounted rate for JZP wedding photography services.
There will be prizes in the form of a free photo session for the person who refers the winning couple/wedding to us — so please share, share, share the giveaway on Facebook, Instagram, via word-of-mouth, email, carrier pigeons — you name it!
If you have any questions about the contest feel free to comment below or send me an e-mail to photo@jillianzamora.com

Lezlie and Justin.
Justin and Lezlie.
Just thinking about how sweet these two are together makes me smile.
The three of us got together a couple of weeks ago in Farmers Branch for their engagement session that started out with a picnic because picnics are kind of “their thing.” They went on a picnic on their first date and they also enjoyed a picnic right before Justin proposed. Fweet!
Having a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows may have segued into  a marshmallow fight of sorts . . .
Can we talk about how great an outfit choice Lezlie made by adding in that pop of pattern and color with that gorgeous scarf? Loved. it.
JUST LOOK AT THOSE ADORABLE FACES?? Are those not the most adorable facial expressions ever?
Justin is a fellow lover of photography, as well as a super-talented videographer. James and I have worked several weddings with Justin Lowe Productions, and love referring him to our brides and grooms for wedding videography.
Root beer is another one of Justin and Lezlie’s “things” so we integrated it into the session as well.
One snazzy outfit change later, we wrapped up the second half of the shoot.
Lezlie and Justin — April cannot come quickly enough because I cannot WAIT to have the two of y’all back in front of my camera again. I’m sure that’s the only reason y’all are looking forward to April as well, right? ]
Happy Friday, all!

Everything about this day was just wonderful.
The sun was shining, the weather was crisp, I was getting to photograph friends of mine, and those friends were beaming from the get-go.
Lauren and I became friends in college at UNT where we served in the Baptist Student Ministry together. Lauren is driven, quick to help the people around her, and really such a sweetheart to the core — even though she probably wouldn’t admit it. Never in my three years at college did I see Lauren swoon over a guy — even if she did, she was much too calculated for obvious displays of affection like many college girls seemed inclined to.
But then there was Brad.
It didn’t appear to be an instant attraction. It wasn’t an immediate whirlwind romance.
But it was steady and sure.
I graduated before I got to see much of the two of them as a couple. Seeing them together during the shoot was just such a sweet time for me to see how incredibly happy Lauren is with Brad at her side and the tender admiration in which Brad so obviously holds Lauren.
They both appear to be thoroughly, utterly and exceptionally smitten.
Lauren’s only request for the session was that there be a dock worked in at some point because she had bought Brad the (calculated) Christmas gift of a pair of Sperrys . . . to later be used in an engagement session . . .
I’m excited because I can see that y’all are so, so happy together. I simply cannot wait for your September wedding!
