blissfully engaged: nabila & aly // cedar hill + dallas engagement photography
I’m just going to come right out and say it — Nabila and Aly are a gem of a couple.
I love that just looking at each other makes them laugh. I love that it’s evident how much they treasure getting to be together — probably because they’ve been a long-distance couple for the majority of their relationship. And I love that they’ll never be long distance again with their impending October wedding.
All of it just makes my heart happy.
I’m so thrilled to be the photographer you’ve chosen to document this sweet engagement and wedding season. Thank you, thank you.
A week ago today James and I flew out to the Virgin Islands. We met up with this awesome couple on Monday morning, flew out in a helicopter for their beach ceremony, and took lots of photos.
It was awesome.
More of Erin and Wes’ island wedding to come.

Meet Maddie and Christopher, the JZP New Year Wedding Giveaway winners.
I can’t really pinpoint exactly why I chose them out of the stack of entries.
Honestly, the best I can explain it is that they’re basically just awesome.
They’re both baristas so of course we had to figure out a way to work a french press into the session.
Fun fact: Before they were engaged Christopher bought this dress for Maddie as a Christmas present with the secret motive of her wearing it in their engagement photos — as he already had the proposal on his mind. The man’s got style.
In brainstorming ideas before a session sometimes a particular movement will come to mind for a particular couple. The image above was the idea that my brain gave me specifically for Christopher and Maddie.
Looking back on the session, the dreary, windy weather sets the perfect mood in these images but in the moment I had not been super-pumped about the weather up to this point in the session.
But then we were gifted with this sunset.
And it was all okay.
Yep. Christopher and Maddie, I think you guys are awesome.
Just thought you should know.
I’d like to start off this post by saying: “HAPPY WEDDING DAY, MORGAN AND TYLER!!”
I wish I could be there documenting it but since I couldn’t, I’m so happy that I was able to share in this season of y’all’s lives by taking your engagement photos.
The three of us met up in Tolar (my tiny hometown — WOO!) a couple of weeks back to wander around Tyler’s family’s land and snapping some pictures while we were at it. I had such a great time photographing these two lovebirds.
I’m so happy for you two. Just in spending two hours with both of you together it feels like y’all truly bring out the best in each other. And I like that.
